FAQ - WeedMD to Starseed Transfer

Why am I transferring my medical document to Starseed?
Since WeedMD Rx Inc. merged with Starseed Medicinal Inc. in early 2020, we have been planning a combined offering for both sets of patients to benefit from the many services of both companies. With Starseed, you will still have access to your regular line-up of WeedMD-produced strains plus more products such as vapes, oils, softgels and a new line up of topicals coming later this fall under Mary’s Medicinals. And it’s all within the pricing structure you’ve come to expect from WeedMD.

What is Starseed Medicinal?
Starseed is a licenced provider of medical cannabis that is part of WeedMD’s family of brands. WeedMD and Starseed recently merged in 2020, and to complete the integration, we are combining our products and services under one streamlined offering and marketplace. Simply put, while WeedMD is the producer of all our medical products, Starseed is the seller of all our medical brands.

How do I benefit from transferring over to Starseed?
Transferring to Starseed means you will have access to a larger portfolio of medical cannabis products, such as additional strains, vapes, oils and softgels, all produced by WeedMD. Additionally, you will also have access to a line-up of Mary’s Medicinals topicals and gels coming later this year, as well as services such as same-day shipping (Greater Toronto Area for now), a dedicated client care team available 7 days a week, and access to direct billing for those with coverage.

Do I have to transfer my medical document over to Starseed?
Yes. For continued access to WeedMD’s products (plus many more new strains), which will now be available through Starseed, we are pleased to assist you in transferring your medical document to Starseed.

What is happening with WeedMD?
We’re still here, of course! As the parent company of Starseed, WeedMD’s production staff and friendly Client Service Team will still be the same. Simply put, while WeedMD is the producer of all our medical products, Starseed is the seller of all our medical brands.

Is this going to cost me anything?
No. We’ve streamlined the process so that all you have to do is follow the simple instructions to register with Starseed Medicinal Inc. and we will take care of the rest.

Will I still be able to order the WeedMD products I’m used to?
Absolutely. Your WeedMD strains and more continue to be available at the pricing structure you have come to expect from us.

What kind of new products will I now have access to?
You will now have access to a larger portfolio of products which includes cannabis oils in CBD-dominant, balanced, THC-dominant and “higher potency” variations. A larger selection of dried cannabis strains will be available, as well as vapes, softgels and future unreleased formats including the line-up of Mary’s Medicinals for which WeedMD is the exclusive producer in Canada.

When do I have to transfer my medical document by?
We require you to transfer your medical document over to Starseed by October 6th in order to have access to WeedMD’s products.
